Secure Lives Children Service home is an option for young people aged 8-18 who can be accommodated on welfare, remand or custodial grounds. Though we aim to maintain high levels of security and safety, we make sure the home feels like a home and not an institution. We support and encourage young people take up opportunities to learn from and consider their actions whilst reflecting on the consequences, so they are able to use those experiences as they move forward after leaving the home.
Secure Lives provides a range of tailored services using our specialist knowledge from across the sector to help each young person develop. This includes education, high quality care and therapeutic work, all of which positively impact young people’s lives.
The home is also the base for working with young people who are drawn to risky or offending behaviors. By building relationships at an early point, we introduce preventative measures in place to ensure they take the positive path away from the criminal justice system. By showing young people the influence, they can have over their own lives, they leave our home with improved self-esteem and positive decision-making skills.
Our approach to young people’s social care reflects our core values. Working in this way allows us to build trust and empower people to do their best, whatever their role.
